Day 1: Arrival & Luxor’s East Bank
Arrive in Luxor and meet your representative for a guided tour of Luxor's East Bank. Visit Karnak Temple, a vast complex dedicated to Amun-Ra, featuring grand columns and the impressive Hypostyle Hall. Continue to Luxor Temple, a beautifully preserved temple that was once connected to Karnak by the Avenue of Sphinxes.
Day 2: West Bank Wonders & Esna Lock
After breakfast, explore Luxor’s West Bank. Discover the Valley of the Kings, also known as the Valley of the Gates of the Kings.
This iconic site served as the royal burial ground for nearly 500 years during
the New Kingdom period, from the Eighteenth to the Twentieth Dynasties. Carved
into the cliffs of a desert wadi on the west bank of the Nile—directly across
from ancient Thebes (modern-day Luxor)—this sacred valley is the final resting
place of pharaohs and powerful nobles. Nestled within the Theban Necropolis, the Valley is home to
some of the most beautifully decorated tombs in Egypt, showcasing intricate
wall paintings and hieroglyphs that have survived thousands of years. Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an architectural masterpiece built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues that once guarded the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. In the afternoon, sail toward Edfu, passing through the Esna Lock, a vital waterway for Nile navigation.
Day 3: Edfu & Kom Ombo
Begin the day with a visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, dedicated to the falcon god. Continue sailing to Kom Ombo, where you'll explore the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris, a unique double temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Haroeris. Later, sail to Aswan, passing under the Aswan Bridge, a modern landmark connecting the city.
Day 4: Aswan’s Highlights
Visit the High Dam, an engineering marvel that controls the Nile’s flow and generates hydroelectric power. See the Unfinished Obelisk, an enormous stone monument abandoned due to cracks, offering insight into ancient stone-cutting techniques. Explore the Temple of Philae, a stunning island temple complex dedicated to the goddess Isis, relocated to Agilkia Island to save it from flooding.
Day 5: Farewell to Aswan
Disembark after breakfast and take time to explore Aswan's markets, where you can find spices, handmade crafts, and souvenirs before departing.
Your adventure concludes with a return to your hotel, leaving you with the memories of Egypt's wonders!
